Privacy is the floor, not a feature

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 29, 2026

The short version

  • Your screenshot is used for one analysis, then deleted. We never store the original.
  • SnapCue works with no account — we don't ask for your name, email, or contacts.
  • To analyze a screenshot, it is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and to our AI provider (Google), used only to produce your result, and never used to train models.
  • No ads, no tracking SDKs, no selling data. SnapCue only ever reads the screenshot you choose to share.

This Privacy Policy explains what SnapCue ("SnapCue", "we", "us") does with information when you use the SnapCue mobile app and related services (the "Service"). Screenshots can hold private things — DMs, names, emails. We've tried to collect as little as possible and to be exact about the rest.

1. What we process

SnapCue does not require an account and does not collect profile data. The only content we process is what you actively hand to it:

We do not access your photo library beyond the single image you select, read other apps, listen in the background, or scan your other screens.

2. How your screenshot is analyzed

Analysis happens in the cloud, not on your device. We want to be plain about that:

  1. Your screenshot is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the SnapCue backend.
  2. The backend forwards the image to our AI provider, Google (the Gemini API), which reads the image and returns the tone read, suggested action, and a draft reply.
  3. We pass that result back to your device and discard the image. It is processed in memory to fulfill your request and is not written to long-term storage.

Per our configuration with the provider, content you send through SnapCue is used only to generate your result and is not used to train AI models.

3. What we do not do

4. Service providers

We rely on a small number of vendors who process data only to run the Service, under their own terms:

5. Payments

SnapCue is free to start. Optional Pro subscriptions are billed by Apple through your App Store account. We do not see or store your payment card information; we may receive Apple's standard, non-sensitive purchase/subscription status to unlock features.

6. Data retention

Screenshots and their analysis results are not retained after your request completes. Operational logs that do not contain screenshot content are kept only as long as needed for reliability and abuse prevention, then rotated out.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to our analysis API is gated by an application token, and we apply rate limits to deter abuse. No method of transmission or processing is ever 100% secure, but we keep the surface small by storing as little as possible.

8. Children

SnapCue is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

9. Your choices & rights

Because SnapCue has no account and stores no screenshots, there is no profile to export or delete. You stay in control by choosing what to screenshot and share, and you can stop using the Service at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data — to exercise them or ask any question, contact us below and we'll help.

10. International processing

Our providers operate globally, so your screenshot may be processed on servers outside your country during analysis. We use reputable providers and the encrypted, no-retention flow described above wherever processing occurs.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll surface a notice in the app or on this page.
