Decode a message
What does “k.” mean in a text?
On its own, “k” just means okay. With a period, and right after you've let someone down, “k.” usually reads as cold: they're annoyed or hurt and don't feel like saying more.
“Per my last message, as previously mentioned… Friday.”What does “per my last message” mean?
It's workplace shorthand for “I already answered this.” Polite on the surface, it signals mild irritation that you missed or forgot something.
“Interesting choice of thumbnail.”What does “interesting choice” mean in a comment?
Usually it's polite disapproval. “Interesting” is standing in for “questionable”: on a thumbnail it often implies clickbait or a misleading image.
“Bold take. Curious how this plays out in practice 🙂”What does “bold take” mean on LinkedIn?
“Bold take” is polite professional skepticism: they doubt your claim but are giving you room to prove it.
“ngl this lowkey slaps 😭 where'd u even find this place”What does “lowkey slaps” mean?
“Slaps” means something is really good. “Lowkey” softens it to “honestly, kind of”, and “ngl” means “not gonna lie”.
“this is giving main character energy and I'm here for it 💅”What does “main character energy” mean?
It means you come across as confident and magnetic, like the lead in a movie.
“Congrats on the launch!! 🎉”How to reply to congratulations on LinkedIn
It's genuine support, often from someone keeping a connection alive.
Tricky replies
How to respond to a troll who says “ratio”
“Ratio” means the troll hopes their reply gets more likes than your post, framing yours as embarrassing.
“Hi Arron! Quick q, what's your current comp range?”How to reply when a recruiter asks your current salary
Recruiters ask early to check whether you fit their budget. Naming a number first can anchor any offer lower.
“Source? 🤔”How to reply when someone comments “Source?”
“Source?” asks you to back up a claim, usually with some skepticism.
“Bold of you to say this with your track record.”How to respond to “bold of you to say this with your track record”
This is an ad hominem jab: it attacks your credibility rather than your argument, in public.

Is this “trading mentor” DM a scam?

“lmao this founder deleted my comment AGAIN 🤡 everyone go ask…”How to respond to a public call-out
